Jumeirah Golf Estates: Earth Course

Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

JGE, Earth Course, Overview

The home of the DP World Tour Championship – the exciting finale to The Race to Dubai.

This mix of rolling fairways, water hazards, rushing water and bunkering make this a unique experience, not only in terms of desert golf, but any form of the game. The length of the course, alongside its pace happy greens, make this a test for even elite level golfers. Having said that, the variety of tees on offer ensures that it can be a fair test for any handicapped played.

The course itself sits adjacent to its sister, Fire Course, both of which share the same impressive clubhouse facility with a selection of restaurants, bars, gym, spa treatments, swimming pool and outdoor activities areas.

Most people would catagorise this as a ‘must play’ when visiting Dubai… and we wouldn’t have much of an argument against that.

The Golf Course

The Earth Course is known for its challenging layout, featuring narrow fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards that come into play on several holes. The course measures 7,706 yards from the championship tees and has a par of 72.

One of the most unique features of the Earth Course is its design philosophy, which incorporates elements of the natural landscape to create a challenging yet sustainable golf course. The course is built around a natural wadi, or dry riverbed, and features native grasses and plants that require less water and maintenance than traditional golf course turf – you’ll recognise the 17th and 18th as soon as you see them.

Facilities

In addition to the golf courses, the Jumeirah Golf Estates offers a wide range of facilities. There is a state-of-the-art clubhouse, which features locker rooms, a pro shop, a restaurant and bar, and event facilities for weddings and other special occasions.

The development also features a number of recreational facilities, including a fitness center, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a children’s play area.

For those looking for more relaxation and pampering, there is a luxury spa on site, which offers a wide range of treatments and services. The spa features private treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam room, and a relaxation area.

Location

The Jumeirah Golf Estates is located in the southern part of Dubai. Specifically, it is situated in the neighborhood of Jebel Ali, near the border with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The development is located just off the main Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, which provides easy access to other parts of Dubai and the airport is approximately 25 minutes by car.
